This is an Audio Isolation Box. It separates the audio from the piano signal allowing you to run the piano signal directly to the iq box and to send the audio signal straight to the speakers. You don't have to use this box, but it makes things easier.
Let me quickly describe why you'd want to use this.  The purpose of the iQ control box is to interpret music coming from your ipod. It also works to balance the audio and the piano.  The app sends the iQ box differences in levels between the audio and the piano that the iQ box never intended on "hearing".  The app can turn the piano signal down to nothing, and at the same time, blast the audio. The iQ gently responds to this, but the difference is too much for it to level out. None the less, it still attempts to balance out the piano and audio. The amount that is raises or lowers the piano or audio is actually relatively small. Because of this, we can get away with using the app. The iQ NEVER jams or gets locked up when signals that it wasn't programmed to handle are presented. It gently deals with them but as mentioned above only alters them slightly.

So we have a small and for the most part insignificant battle between the app and the iQ box. This battle hampers the performance of the app a TINY bit because the iq tries to correct the differences in volume between the audio and piano.

Obviously the iQ system would work a bit better if this battle could be avoided completely. This could be done by sending the audio straight to the Speaker, and not even letting the iQ know it's there.
******To do this audio isolation, look at the board above.

With this audio isolation box, you can run high quality shielded audio rca cable from the circuit board to your speaker or house system thus bypassing the iq box.

THESE ARE NOT USED.

PianoDisc Remote will work significantly better if you run the piano signal straight to the iq box, and the audio signal directly to the speakers. Because of this app, there is no reason to send audio and piano to the iq box. The two signals should be split up. The easiest way to do this, is to purchase this box. If you don't want to do that, you can buy splitters from Radio Shack.  I sell this box for $50 which includes an extra cable and free shipping in the USA. Email me if you'd like one. hayesiq@gmail.com

If you don't buy the box then do this:

Red is the Piano Signal... Convert from RCA to 1/8
Glass Button
Blue or White is the Audio

By doing this, you're breaking up the piano and audio signals. There is no reason for them to go to the iQ box together. By splitting them up, the app works better because it doesn't have to battle the iq box.
Later I will show exactly what cables to use.. Don't have time right now.
