As you now know PIANOSTREAM has two interfaces. Let's concentrate on the DIGITAL interface first. If you have ANY piano with MIDI in/out ports please buy this Yamaha MD-BT01 right away. It will enable PianoStream's DIGITAL interface. (there are other devices out there and I will mention them later but for now this one is the one to get due to its simplicity and robustness)
Once again, PianoStream has two interfaces: Analog and Digital

Now let's connect to a ANY piano that has MIDI in/out Ports. This includes ALL disklaviers except for the Enspire Upright (you'll need a Yamaha UD-BT01 for that piano... It's a USB device. I'll add a link and video. You'll also use the UD-BT01 with the Yamaha Enspire upright. The procedure in this video on how to connect to a midi device is the SAME for ALL Digital and Player Pianos. Please watch this video:
The Yamaha MD-BT01 can be used on the vast majority of Player/Digital pianos. Before you use it, watch this little video it will show you how to update the firmware and how to rename the device.

DIGITAL (click on pic)
Now look for MIDI IN/OUT jacks on your piano.

Let's talk quickly about AirPort Express. If you have a PianoDisc iQ system there's a good chance that you have one under your piano. If it works for you keep using it. If it's not part of your wifi you really should have it join. I'll share a page that I put together which will show you how to do it. But once again, I do not recommend Airport Express for PianoDisc as I did before.

If you have an Airport Express under your PianoDisc iQ, this is how you connect it to the internet.

There is a white triange on both ends of this dongle. The one that points out away from the device goes to the midi in on the piano's control unit.
If you have a PDS228 once again you will need the self powered midi receiver. If you have a PDS128+ then you can use the Yamaha MD-BT01 because the PDS128+ provides power. If you have a PianoDisc CD Only then you will need to do something else. Hang tight and I'll show you what you'll need. Now I'm going to show you three videos. One will show you how to connect to the MIDI device that you end up using. The other will show you how to use PianoStream Digital with your PDS228 or PDS128+ and the another will show you how to update and rename the MD-BT01.
Connect to PDS128+ and PDS228 like this. This video will also show you how to quickly calibrate your piano:
This video will show you how to use your PDS228 with PianoStream's Digital Interface. With the pds128+ and the PDS228 you will need to have a floppy disk in the floppy drive. With the PDS228 remember you should use the battery powered midi receiver because the unit does not provide power for the midi device. In the video you'll see that I used a 5v power adapter that I designed. You can get on of these from me for $99 but it's easier to just use the battery powered device.
Midi power adapter board that I make for $99. It's easier just to get the batter powered one from Amazon but keep in mind you'll forget to charge it and the battery will die!
For some reason PianoDisc's PDS228's midi ports do not have power. Nor does there HD Silent Drive iQ CPU (most of the time.) If the md-bt01 won't turn on then you'll know that the device that you're working on doesn't have power. The power usually comes from the midi out jack. If the device doens't have power, you'll need a battery powered device like the one on the left or a solid state one from me which will cost $99 because I'm not China haha. But it will give the md-bt01 constant power and you don't have to worry about the battery dying.
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT DISKLAVIER
The Yamaha MD-BT01 and the Digital part of PianoStream will work on pretty much every Disklavier ever made except for the Yamaha upright Enspire. With that particular unit you will need a Yamaha UD-BT01

Here is the UD-BT01 on Amazon:
This YouTube with our very own MauColi shows you how to use the UD-BT01 with a digital piano and the Digital interface of PianoStream. The procedure is the same with the Yamaha Enspire upright. You could also use this device on a Dkc850 and also on a Mark4 Disklavier

You're in for a treat if you have a Player Piano! Wait til you hear our stuff playing live on your piano! Look at all those songs! And that's just the beginning! We cover stuff that no one else would EVEN consider!
This is how you use a PDS 228 and the PianoStream's Digital Interface.
Buy this device for ALL DISKLAVIERS except for the Yamaha Upright Enspire. Click on the device it will take you to Amazon.
If you have a Disklavier Enspire Upright you'll need this. Click on link. Get from Amazon.

This device is so good that I really should put this up at the top of the page. There is nothing better than this on the market for the Analog part of PianoStream. If you're wifi is decent you won't find a simpler device to use and a more reliable one. At least that's been my experience. If you have a PianoDisc Prodigy this device will allow you to rome around the house and still have perfect communication with your piano. Obviously Bluetooth limits how far you can distance yourself from the piano. If you have PianoDisc iQ this is also the best device for that system. If you have an Aiport Express and it works great keep it. If it doesn't use this device. It's so simple. You simply turn it on, go to settings on your phone, touch wifi, and have it join your wifi. You don't even need an app to use it. Push and hold the Play button to bring up Setup menu if it doesn't come up automatically. You can control the volume input with the plus and minus buttons. This comes in really handy.

If you have an Enspire this device is a must! It will give you Piano plus the band while using PianoStream Analog. Also,
Please join our PianoStream Facebook page! All your questions will be answered there!

Let's get you up and running as fast as possible! PianoStream has two interfaces: Analog and Digital. Let's talk about Digital first.

Digital for the most part means Solo Piano and it works with pretty much everything out there. In order for the Digital side of PianoStream to work, you'll need a Yamaha MD-BT01 wireless midi receiver.

This is the Yamaha MD-BT01 wireless midi receiver. You will most likely need it! The Digital part of PianoStream uses this device. You simply connect to it with PianoStream, and then from the app, select a station, and push play. You plug this device under your piano into two little circular ports that are labled MIDI In and MIDI Out. The Digital part of the app and this device will give you TONS of beautiful solo piano content to enjoy.
Click on pic so that you can see it on Amazon. Don't buy it yet though because there is another device which is very similar to it and it might not be a bad idea to get both so that you can decide which one you prefer.
Plz click on pic and watch this tutorial! It will show you how to connect to any piano that has MIDI In/Out and how to use the Yamaha MD-BT01 wireless midi receiver.
I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible but there is another wireless midi device out there which is called Widi Master. It is very similar to the Yamaha MD-BT01 with advantages and disadvantages. Both are very good but slightly different. You might want to get both of them from Amazon and decide which one you prefer after you get them. Since the widi master is usually available on Amazon Prime you might not want to wait for the MD-BT01.
MD-BT01 summary: Extremely Easy to use. Easy to update. Easy to rename. Works with multiple iPhones and iPads. Does not lock onto a particular device and does not connect automatically. Usually not on Amazon Prime and if you're like me you can't wait!
Widi Master summary: Not as easy to use. Harder to rename. Tends to lock onto once device. Extremely nice playback maybe slightly better than MD-BT01. Less susceptible to noise. Usually available on Amazon Prime!
These videos are just like the one above but watch them if you please.
Now let's talk about PianoStream's analog interface. Some piano player systems like PianoDisc iQ require a fax like sound which makes it play. This little WiiM wifi audio receiver (hockey puck device!) works incredibly well with that system. It also works with PianoDisc CD only and also with PianoDisc Prodigy. If you have a Disklavier enspire, Marklll, MarkIV, DKC850 and or e3 you'll want to get this along with the Yamaha MD-BT01 or Widi Master midi receivers. This device will give you Piano + Vocals on all of the pianos that I just mentioned.
Now please watch this little introductory video. We need to update it but you'll get the idea!
OR
Sorry there is so much info. Hopefully I'm not overwhelming you. Let's continue however!

The MD-BT01 and the Widi Master devices only give you solo piano. The WiiM wifi audio receiver give you piano plus vocals and also solo piano. It works incredibly well with PianoDisc iQ and also PianoDisc Prodigy and also with PianoDisc CD Only. I don't recommend you use this with PianoDisc PDS128+. It does work with PianoDisc PDS228.

So what should you get!? Let's quickly talk about a few different player systems.

Disklavier Enspire:
Get the MD-BT01 or the Widi Master and also the WiiM.This way you'll have solo piano and piano plus the vocals.

Disklavier MarkIII:
Get either midi device and also the WiiM. This system will also give you solo piano and piano plus vocals. Make sure to slide little switch on back of control unit to "MIDI."

Disklavier MarkIV:
Get a device called Yamaha UD-BT01. It is a wireless midi receiver in the shape of a fat thumb drive. There's usually not enough room for the MD-BT01 or Widi Master under MarkIV but you can definitely try. If you get the UD-BT01 you can change the midi input to USB using your PRC-100 Remote.
Here's the UD-BT01 on Amazon:

Disklavier e3:
Get the MD-BT01 or the Widi Master and also the WiiM.This way you'll have solo piano and piano plus the vocals. If the piano won't play while using PianoStream Digital, use Remote control and go into settings and change MIDI input to MIDI. It's probably stuck on USB. Speaking of which, the UD-BT01 will also work on this piano and it's updateable just like the MD-BT01. However, it seems better to me to simply use the midi devices already mentioned.

Now I'm not trying to complicate things, but you might get a better idea as to how all of this works by watching a few videos on YouTube. These are all videos that I made. Please watch a few of them you might even see your piano and your questions might be answered. Here is my YouTube Channel:
This is the WiiM wifi audio receiver. It works with the analog part of PianoStream. Please click on it to watch a little video.
Here it is on Amazon. It costs about $89
Here it is on Amazon. It costs about $50
Here's how you use it. If you have a Digital piano and if it doesn't have midi in/out, it most likely has a USB drive. Use this device if that's the case. Also, with the enspire upright, you'll need this device for solo piano from the Digital side of PianoStream. The midi ports on the enspire upright are deactivated.
