The day will most likely come when you'll have a customer who wants to not only pipe the piano's orchestration through the house, but also the piano itself. There is no way to do this unless you mic the piano. The easiest was to do this is with the barcus-berry mic.

This controls the barcus berry mic output level and also the orchestration from pianodisc song. This is a stereo pot, so it controls both volumes at the same time. This will control speakers throughout house.

This is a stereo output. The barcus berry mic signal is here, and also the orchestration from pianodisc's music. When you turn the knob on the side of the box, you'll simultaneously adjust the barcus berry mic's output and the orchestration from whatever song it is that you're listening to. Do not merge these two signals. If you have to merge them, you'll need to run them into a small mixer. Otherwise, they'll distort each other. Most houses will have a stereo rca wall plate. Run this stereo signal to that wall plate. Piano disc sends this 1/8" stereo to rca with every iq unit they sell.

You'll have to buy a 9V battery for this unit. Open it up, and you'll see where to install it. It will supposedly last 1000 hours. The brass thing you see is the mic. It has a sticky adhesive back. Clean the soundboard under the piano with your hand and then stick this mic directly to the soundboard. Once it's attached, don't pull it off. Tell your customer that it works best if the piano's lid is open. Click on picture for more info.
